About the Role


As a DevOps Engineer at Booking, you will design and maintain cloud infrastructure using infrastructure as code (terraform, cloudformation) while contributing to the team's objectives and broader company goals.


Booking is based in New York, and this role offers remote flexibility. You will have the opportunity to work from home or any location with a reliable internet connection, while staying connected with your team through regular video calls and collaboration tools.



About the Team


You will join a team of 21 professionals working on devops projects. The team collaborates with cross-functional partners to deliver projects on time and maintain high standards of work.



Key Responsibilities


  • Design and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment
  • Monitor system performance, reliability, and cost optimisation
  • Manage container orchestration with Kubernetes and Docker
  • Implement security best practices and compliance controls
  • Respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive improvements


Requirements


  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure automation
  • Proficiency in containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or Go)
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
  • Understanding of networking, security, and identity management
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions)
