About the Role


As a Platform Engineer at Spotify - Cloud at Spotify, you will design and maintain cloud infrastructure using infrastructure as code (terraform, cloudformation) while contributing to the team's objectives and broader company goals.


Spotify is based in Chicago, and this role is expected to work from the office. This provides opportunities for face-to-face collaboration, mentorship, and team building. Specific work arrangements are discussed during the interview process.



About the Team


You will join a team of 11 professionals working on devops projects. The team collaborates with cross-functional partners to deliver projects on time and maintain high standards of work.



Key Responsibilities


  • Design and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment
  • Monitor system performance, reliability, and cost optimisation
  • Manage container orchestration with Kubernetes and Docker
  • Implement security best practices and compliance controls
  • Respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive improvements


Requirements


  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure automation
  • Proficiency in containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or Go)
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
  • Understanding of networking, security, and identity management
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions)
